Friday Book Beginnings & Book Blog Hop
"When I was born, the name for what I was did not exist." Circe by Madeline Miller
I'm currently reading Circe and it's delightful. It's a retelling of a Greek myth about a witch-goddess but I can't tell you much more about it because I've never actually heard of Circe before... I resisted googling the story behind the story because I want to keep the ending a surprise. Seeing that The Song of Achilles was a tragedy, I'm assuming that this one is too, but I don't know yet.
Q: What are some of your favorite books to re-read? (submitted by Nicole @ The Christian Fiction Girl)
A: Call of the Wild is at the top of the list, I think I have it memorized. There's Let the Right One In and The Fall of the House of Usher. There's the Harry Potter series, and if you're asking, 'aren't I too old for that sort of thing?' the answer is 'yes, but I'm unashamed.' I've also read WICKED a few times, too.
I think my favorite reread is "The Secret Garden".
ReplyDeleteThat's a great choice! I read that when I was younger and loved it.
DeleteWhat a great beginning! I've reread Wicked a few times too. Dracula is another favorite of mine to reread. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteDracula is one of my favorites. it scared the bajeezus out of me when he was on the Demeter.
DeleteJust got back from Aruba where I put a serious dent in the Stephen King book (Fairy Tale) I'm reading. Good to be back but...Aruba.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. My vacation won't be as exotic but there will be a beach involved. I'd love to visit Aruba.
