The Sunday Post
Happy Sunday! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
The Sunday Post is a news meme created by Caffeinated Reviewer. I will be posting on the first Sunday of each month and I hope you'll join me.
It's March! In February we got a small snowstorm followed by a bitter, howling wind that froze the snow solid, turning the yard into skating rink. But it's March and that's almost in the past now, as Spring approaches and the yard starts to thaw. Does anyone else think the day of Spring Forward should be a National Holiday?
I posted two reviews in the last month:
I feel pretty good about being 5 books into my yearly reading goal of 12. I haven't posted all of the reviews for them because some of them are going to count towards my A-Z Blogging Challenge in April. I'm reading the book for Q now, Quiet Dell by Jayne Anne Phillips, and am using the 'sample' feature on Amazon to audition books for X. My first blog hop related to the A-Z Challenge is a Theme Reveal posting on March 9th. Probably a little redundant for you, but for fellow competitors it matters. I'm also pleased to say that all 5 books aligned with a topic in the Pick Your Poison Challenge, where I'm trying for the lowest level of 13 topics off the list, so I haven't had to go out of my way to compete.- Iron Flame Rebecca Yarros
- Circe by Madeline Miller
- The Land of Lost Things by John Connolly
- The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
- The Whisper Man by Alex North
Good luck in meeting your book challenge! I’m not a book collector and prefer to borrow ebooks from the library or receive egalleys.
ReplyDeletei do a little of everything, hard copy , ebook, netgalley... i love the conveniece of an ebook, but for my favorite authors or fave series, i like to see the books sitting on my shelves.
DeleteI do love Barnes & Noble. I only get ebooks these days, but I do enjoy browsing. You got some good books. I hope you enjoy them and good luck with your challenge. Have a great week!
ReplyDeletei can never just browse at a bookstore... i always go home with something whether i mean to or not.
DeleteI don't mind the snow, but the ice is a different story! Glad to hear it's melting. I enjoyed Fourth Wing and Iron Flame was good, too. I will probably wait until all the books are released to finish the series. Good luck on your challenges and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteSnow's all gone now ('ve waited so long to answer) I can't wait for the whole series to be released once i start one, I admire your restraint.
DeleteOh dear, snow! We already have our garden in here, and today is a gorgeous sunny day. Good luck with your challenges!
ReplyDeleteit just got warm enough for the crocuses to wake up, but the rabbits ate them all.
DeleteI wish they'd do away with the time change altogether, but if not, a long weekend would be nice. Can we have the entire week off from work? Haha! Being 5 books into your 12 book reading goal for the year is awesome! I hope you enjoy your new books! I loved Circe. I also have read The Midnight Library, which I liked. I hope you have a good week and month of March!
ReplyDeleteDoing away with the time change would be nice too, but i like a good long weekend. i've heard mixed reviews on Circe so I'm looking forward to having my own opinion of it. Song of Achilles was great.
DeleteI used to host a Read the Alphabet Challenge! They're a lot of fun and can be quite challenging when you get to certain letters. Fourth Wing is one I really enjoyed. I've read Iron Flame but haven't read Onyx Storm even though I pre-ordered it. I heard there's a massive cliffhanger and I don't want to do that to myself, lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to cheat a little with X and go with Ex, but i bet I won't be the only one. It sounds like Iron Flame has a conclusive ending at least, so i won't be disappointed with that, those cliffhangers are hard.
