Top Ten Best Books I Read in 2024

Today's Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl, was listed as the Top Ten Best Books I Read in 2024.     Ooh nice ones! Some new to me ones but I did read Brigid Kemmerer's book, might have been the previous year or whenever it came out as I know she focused on the rest of her one trilogy and this year we get the next book to this series!

      I actually recieved an ARC of the second book, it was really good. i shouldn't have applied for one because now i have that much longer to wait for book 3 and i want it now.

    What a great list! I love T. Kingfisher. I also really enjoyed The Abominable, Dan Simmons is a great storyteller who really knows how to set a scene. I read A Darker Shade of Magic years ago, but really enjoyed it!

      I sometimes think Dan Simmons is underrated. He really is good.

    I love Darker Shade of Magic so much. It was one of my favorite reads the year before last. Yay for The City of Brass making your list. That makes me even more excited to read it. You read several other books by authors I've been wanting to read: Dan Simmons, T. Kingfisher, Eowyn Ivey, and Brigid Kemmerer. This is a great list!

   Happy Sunday! Welcome to my Sunday Post, a weekly blog news meme hosted by  caffeinatedbookreviewer . My blog is on the small side, so I decided I'll only be posting the first Sunday of each month and I hope you'll join me. The month of February has been eventful. I've had some wild weather in my neck of the woods: real feel listed as 11 degrees one day, switching to 60s and endless rain, and then to dry windstorms that brought trees down. I successfully managed not to freeze, drown, or fly. I became an aunt to a beautiful niece, who just narrowly escaped being a leap year baby, and I'm pretty excited about her arrival. My Kindle Touch was finally lost to the ravages of time but was replaced swiftly with a Kindle Paperwhite. Top Ten Books I Was Assigned to Read in School

Today's Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl , is all about Books I Was Assigned to Read in School. I've been a lifelong avid reader, but I was always that student that once a story was assigned, I was unlikely to want to read it. Like accidental reverse psychology, I can count on one hand the number of books assigned that I actually liked... three of which made today's list. 1. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck - I've read 2 Steinbeck novels, this one, and The Red Pony  and I hated them both. I don't get the fascination with him. 2. Animal Farm by George Orwell - This is about communist pigs, if you like that sort of thing which I didn't. 3. The Outsiders by SE Hinton - I know a lot of people absolutely love this book, I'm just not one of them. 4. The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings - I was too young to be reading a story this upsetting. 5. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls - This was also upsetting. 6.
