The Sunday Post

Hi all! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

The Sunday Post is a weekly news meme hosted by TheCaffeinatedReviewer. I will be posting on the first Sunday of each month and I hope you will join me.

The weather in October was completely October weather. It was chill enough to suggest long sleeves and sweatshirts were a necessity, but just warm enough that people unwilling to admit summer was over (by people I mean me) could still wear t-shirts and pretend like they weren't getting cold.

My reading successes were unambitious, only having the time to get through two books:

But I didn't have time to post a review for Iron Flame so that will be posted tomorrow morning. I will say I loved it so much, I've already purchased book 3 of the Empyrean series, Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros. The Empyrean series is not my first romantasy, but the plot isn't obsessively fixated on the romance... Which is kind of refreshing.

I'm also trying to get back into my book blog memes, starting with Top Ten Tuesday hosted by ThatArtsyReaderGirl. I haven't started Book Beginnings on Friday and Friday Book Blog Hop again, hosted by RoseCityReader and CoffeeAddictedWriter respectively. My Friday memes are usually based on whether or not I like the question put forth by CoffeeAddictedWriter, but TTT allows for some creativity if you're just not feeling it for the official list of the day.

And I think that's it for me for the month of October. Rather uneventful.

    I enjoy the Tuesday and Friday memes. They keep me thinking. It's been a long time since I read James Patterson. Another author I got away from because there are just so many books out there, but I do want to get back to his. I always love his suspense books. Have a great week!

      This is my second Patterson novel and I find I don't connect very well to his writing style.

    I normally only do the Top Ten Tuesday and the weekend blog memes. I used to do First Line Friday, but I didn't need the content because I had normally had reviews to post. Our October turned quite chilly and I thought about pulling out the coat, but settled for a jacket instead ;) Have a great week!

      I don't read very fast and am running the blog solo, so my reviews are every other monday or so, but i find memes a fun way to stay active within the blogging communtiy.

    I like doing Top Ten Tuesday, but sometimes have trouble filling out the prompt. Depending on the subject, it might be a Top Five or Top Six. Still fun though.

      I started making up my own prompts if i don't like the TTT for a given day. Some of the ones that are "anticipated new releases" I haven't got a clue. and if i got an upcoming release it was likely after netgalley and i've already read it...

  Happy Sunday! The Sunday Post is a weekly news meme created by Caffeinated Reviewer. I will be posting on the first Sunday of each month and I hope you'll join me. We're in drought. We live in an area that's never seen forest fires and yet we've seen forest fires. We got a couple of days of rain and it wasn't enough to consider the drought broken. Everybody has been advised not to run their wood stoves or fire pits... and naturally you can't actually advise anyone on anything anymore so people are doing whatever it is they want instead of worrying about burning the woods down (or their neighbor's house.) I feel like we're either going to get no snow at all this year or we're going to get hammered with it. The books I've read in November were both rereads.
