A = Author Stalker

I have decided, at the last possible minute, to enter April 2015 A-Z Blogger challenge. Every day in April, except for Sundays, I will be making short, book themed posts, that correspond with the letter of the day.

 A is for author, or more specifically the authors I can't help but stalk...

For a bookworm you can't just choose a favorite book; it's a a more complicated decision than Sophie's Choice... After all Sophie did make a choice didn't she? A bookworm, when asked to save only one book from their personal collection, would sit in front of that damn bookcase as the world burned around them, agonizing over the choice and never actually making it.

 However, no matter how many stories a person can read - in a year, a decade, a century - there will always be authors that stand apart from the rest. There will always be authors that you keep coming back to again and again and again … Because something they wrote touched you so deeply, it change how you viewed books or the world, or changed how you lived your life... They made you feel something, they moved your soul, they showed you the light...

 For me those authors who I just can't stop reading are:
  1. JK Rowling ( and her pseudonym ). Because I was a kid who was bullied and had very few friends and wanted to go on adventure ... And she came along and invited me to Hogwarts. She broke my heart with Casual Vacancy and gave me a little bit of intrigue with Cormoran Strike.
  2. John Ajvide Lindqvist. Because I have a need for complex characters; and his is a mind that seems to understand the scariest things are found deep within the human brain. No amount of blood and carnage will ever outshine but his characters do for the horror genre.
  3. Christopher Paolini. I needed a path and he showed me the way. Where the hell is his next book ?
  4. Gregory Maguire. For keeping fairytales alive, and understanding you're never too old for a bit of magic.
 If there's one thing that's absolutely amazing, it's how a person whom you've never met can change your life so completely .

 If you're competing in the A-to-Z challenge please leave me a link!

    1. I'm happy to hear it! His stories inspired me to make some pretty big choices, but in the interest of full disclosure: his work is neither self-help nor religious guidance...His is High Fantasy. ;-)

  5. I think you and I decided to do the A to Z challenge at about the same time. Last possible minute, that is.

    I did it two years ago and had different characters of my book take turns posting. That was fun!

    Good luck. Already liking what I see!

    1. I make a lot of impulsive online decisions. I tried for awhile to keep my blog on a schedule but I'm terrible at planning ahead, lol. I set a date too far in advance it feels like I'm back in school doing homework for a teacher I don't care for...I'm having a lot of fun with this A-Z thing though, seeing blogs I wouldn't otherwise find.
