Quotable Thursday

I was in the mood to read a classic, so this week's quote comes from Frankenstein; Or the Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley.

"The untaught peasant beheld the elements around him and was acquainted with their practical uses. The most learned philosopher knew little more. He had partially unveiled the face of Nature, but her immortal lineaments were still a wonder and a mystery."

  1. Ooh, good choice! It's been so many years since I read Frankenstein -- I really should pick it up again. BTW, I'm using a linky now for Thursday Quotables, so if you feel like it, stop by and add your link! :) Hope you're having a great week.

    1. I'm really enjoying it! I think the 19th century was a good one for literature, some of my favorite authors wrote then. I'll be sure to check out the link thing!
